1. Harvard University

Harvard University (English: Harvard University) is a private university in Cambridge, Massachchusetts, United States and members of the ivy league. The university is one of the world's best universities.

The University was founded on 8 September 1636 and is the oldest college in the United States. Originally named New College, and renamed to Harvard College on March  13, 1639 in honor of its largest contributors, john Harvard, a former Cambridge University student.

The earliest reference that calss Harvard as a "university" and not "college" occured in 1780.

2. University of Cambridge

University of Cambridge (English: Cambridge University; Latin: Universitas Cantabrigiensis) is the second-oldest university in the English World, with the most stingent entrance requirements in the United Kingdom.

early records are no longer stored, but the university has grown from an association of scholars in the city of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, probably formed in 1209 by scholars escaping from Oxford after a fight with town people there. [Citation needed]

University of Oxford and Cambridge, Oxbridge is often called, has had a long history of competition with each other, and is widely regarded as the most elite and prestigious universities in the United Kingdom. Historically, they have produced a number of scientists, writer, and the famous British politican.


Affiliate of the University of Cambridge have won 80 Nobel Prize, more than any other university in the world. of the 80 Nobel Prize winners, 70 had attended Cambridge as an undergraduate student or post-graduate, and not as an "associate" of research, "fellow" or a professor (Universita Chicago at number two in the affiliate of the Nobel Prize winner, with 79 people, but only 30 who had studied at the University of Chicago as an undergraduate student or graduate degrees).

Cambridge is a member of the Russell Group (a network of large, research-oriented university Britain), Coimbra Group (an association of leading European universities), and LERU (League of European Research Universities, the League of European Research Universities).

3. Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is a private research institutions and universities located in the city of Cambridge, Massachusetts directly across from the Carles River in Boston Back BAy district, the United States. MIT has five schools and one college, including 32 departments that specialize in science and technology research.

Founded in 1861 in response to advances in technology and industry in America at that time, the university adopted a Euopean-style research universities. MIT is now standing on the land area of 168 acres, which opened in 1916. In the past 60 years, MIT has developed other branches such as management, economics, management, political science, and biology.

Departments and schools of the most famous is the Lincoln Laboratory, Computer Science and Artificial IntellegenceLaboratory, Media lab, Whute head Institute and the Sloan School of management. 59 of the members of the MIT community have won the Nobel Prize.

For the 20009-2010 academic year, MIT has a 4.232 undergraduate and  6.152 graduate studenst.

4. Yale University

Yale University is a private university in New Haven, Connecticut. Founded in 1701 as the Collegiate School, Yale is the Third oldest institution of higher education in the United States. The University has many Nobel Prize recipient and President of the UnitedSates, including William Howard Taft, Gerald Ford (LL.B), george HW Bush (BA), Bill Clinton (JD), and George W. Bush (BA). Academic acceptance is U.S $ 12.7 billon, which is the second largest in the world (behind rival magnitude, Harvard University).

Yale under graduate teaching emphasize the compared to other research universities. His undergraduate college is oe of the most voters in the United States, only to receive less than 10% of applicants, and have created more Rhodes scolars than any other institution, with the exception of Harvard. Undergraduate students live incollege housing system is unique. Yale graduate School programs including drama, music, architecture, and medicine. Yale Law School is one of the Supreme Court. Altogether, the university has more than 3000 faculty memers, among them Professor sterling is regarded as the highest rangking.

Yale is one of the eight members of the lvy league. Rivalry between Yaleand Harvard historical term; of academic fields to paddle up to football, they are similar to the competition between Oxford and Cambridge.

5. University of Oxford

University of Oxford is the oldest English-language universuty located in the city of Oxford, england. The history of this univeristy can be traced at least from the 11th century, although the exact date of its establishment remains unclear. According to legend, after the outbreaqk of violence between students and town people in 1209, some Oxford academics fled to the northeast, to the city of Cambridge, and founded the University of Cambridge. Both universities have since been competing with each other, and is the most selective colleges in the United Kingdom.
